Hi, I’m Nauris!
Developer by trade, traveler by design. I’ve been building things on the internet since 2005 and living out of suitcases for almost as long.
While others chase passport stamps and Instagram moments, I chase something different: the quiet inspiration that comes from actually living somewhere new. Not for days or weeks, but months.

My approach is simple: pick a place, unpack properly, set up my workstation, and let the destination seep into my bones. I work normal hours because code doesn’t write itself just yet, but evenings belong to exploration. Sometimes that’s a hidden trail, sometimes it’s the perfect coffee shop where nobody speaks English, but it’s always on my terms.
The Backstory
After studying multimedia and design in Denmark, I did what any sensible person would do – started an online business and used it as an excuse to live everywhere. Europe, Southeast Asia, and plenty of places in between became temporary homes.
The journey took an unexpected detour when I spent 7 years working remotely in Automattic (the WordPress company), but corporate life was never the plan. Now I’m back to building my own things – iOS apps, micro-SaaS projects, whatever catches my interest and doing it from wherever I want.
The Balance
My wife jokes that we’re sophisticated nomads (she might have used different words). She’s the extrovert who befriends every café owner; I’m the one mapping hiking trails and finding the quiet corners. Together, we’ve found a rhythm that works, ancient cities for her and a mountain with a view for me, and plenty of compromise in between.
Why Colormelon?
Because travel isn’t black and white. It’s not about checking boxes or following someone else’s itinerary. It’s about finding your own palette of experiences and mixing them however you want.
Whether you’re planning your first extended stay abroad, trying to balance remote work with travel, or just curious about what lies beyond the tourist trail, you’re in the right place.
