DIY Wreath

Is there any better idea for decorating the outdoors for Veterans Day than the DIY American Flag-inspired wreath?

You can make this beautiful wreath easily; all you need are some artificial flowers in white, red, and blue colors, one wreath form, paper-cut white stars, and a hot glue gun.

Use a hot glue gun to attach artificial flowers to a wreath form—alternate red, white, and blue flowers for a patriotic look.

Add white stars to the blue section using fabric stars, or you can even paint them to show your creative side.

Patriotic Balloon Arch

Want to create something cool for your outdoors? Show your patriotism with all your zeal by decorating your front yard entrance with a DIY balloon arch.

Use red, white, and blue balloons in various sizes to create depth. Use a balloon strip or arch kit to arrange them, alternating colors as you go. Finally, tuck mini American flags or ribbon streamers along the arch.

This balloon arch is a joyful way to honor veterans in style.

DIY Patriotic Pillow and Curtain Decor

The easiest way to add a patriotic touch to your living room is to switch regular sofa and pillow covers for American flag prints or red, blue, and white hues.

Moreover, repurpose spare red, blue, and white fabric from around the house to create American flag-inspired curtains to give your living room a perfect patriotic touch.

Backyard Decor

If you have a small garden or flowers in your backyard then try this easy Veterans Day decor.

Paint the pots with red, blue, and white colors. Put a small flag, along with white ribbons to create a cute little patriotic flower pot display. Arrange them on a vertical shelf for a perfect display.

DIY Patriot Bouquet

Take a few flowers from the garden and create a beautiful bouquet for your living room or bedroom.

If you can, buy some chrysanthemums. These large, showy flowers are popular for multiple layers of petals. They come in a variety of colors, including red, white, and blue, and are perfect for creating an American flag-inspired bouquet.

DIY Veterans Day Banner

Create a DIY Veterans Day banner with your family. Use cardstock or felt to cut out flag shapes, stars, or letters to spell “Honor Our Heroes.”

Decorate each piece with markers, stickers, or fabric scraps in patriotic colors. Hang the banner outside of your home for a heartfelt tribute.

For those short on time, simply write “Thank You, Veterans” on a poster board or chalkboard as a centerpiece for the occasion.

Military Medal Shadow Box

If you have a veteran in your family, honor them personally with a shadow box display featuring medals, badges, or patches. Use a backdrop of camouflage or military-themed fabric, and add a small flag or plaque with the veteran’s name.

This thoughtful piece can be displayed in your home as a year-round tribute, or you can gift it to them as a meaningful keepsake.

Paint one accent wall with a bold red or blue color and hang some star decoration pieces along with the American flag as a perfect backdrop.

For the Veterans Day celebration, change the bedsheet color to a white one and add a blue quilt on top. This will complete the accent wall as well.

Finally, add red, blue, and white pillows to complete the setup.
